Yoga

My journey

It’s funny, when I first tried yoga in 2005…I didn’t like it. I was a “gym rat” at the time and the yoga class was at the gym. I’m not turning my nose up ay gym yoga by any means. It was more of a case of wrong time and wrong teacher for me. Fast forward one year, 2006, I tried another yoga class in a different gym…guess what? I fell in love! The teacher and the time was right for me. Initially it was the physical challenge of it, then I began to notice how it started to calm my mind and open my heart. I found that the world seemed more quiet while practicing and I began to actually see the love, compassion and contentment I could have for myself and for others. In 2008, I completed my 250-hour teacher training at Wake Up Yoga under the watchful, caring and extremely talented eyes of Corina Benner and Jill Manning. In 2010 I continued my learning by beginning the 500-hour teaching training of Pranakriya with the masterfully skilled Yoganand Michael Carroll and Marlysa Sullivan.

As a teacher, I strive to show the many beautiful facets of Yoga, not just the asana practice. I encourage each student to appreciate their strengths and their weaknesses so they can see their own happiness and not wait for anyone or anything.

My Experience

Through all of my disciplines I see myself as a teacher and a guide. Believing in the holistic benefits of yoga, reiki and nutrition. I am dedicated and passionate about integrating the physical, mental, and spiritual aspects into daily life. My classes aim to cultivate strength, flexibility, inner peace, promoting overall well-being and healing for my students.

I have spent over 16 years teaching in the United States, UK and Europe. I’ve put in over 10,000 hours of teaching to become a Senior Yoga Teacher in 2018. Leading retreats and being a part of several yoga teacher trainings. Mentoring new teachers and being there for seasons ones, has been my honour and pleasure.
